For $5 per hour, rent a pedal bike or e-bike and cycle the county. Explore extensive trails, beautiful parks, or use your bike to easily travel around must-visit Albany sites. Corning Preserve Hub

Corning Preserve is a waterfront park boasting scenic views of the Hudson River plus spectacular sights of Albany’s skyline. It’s a favorite place to start for cyclists, providing easy access to the Mohawk-Hudson Bike-Hike Trail which connects to the Erie Canalway Trail and stretches all the way to Buffalo.

If you don’t want to bike too far, pedal across the Albany Skyway to easily reach downtown Albany from Corning Preserve. Explore places to shop like B. Lodge & Co. or The Vandy, grab a bite to eat at Common Roots Brewing Company or The Hollow Bar + Kitchen, or pop into attractions like the Irish American Heritage Museum or Albany Center Gallery.

Bike racks can be found throughout downtown so there are plenty of places to drop off your bike when you’re ready to end your trip!

 

Mohawk Hudson Land Rail Trail

Mohawk Hudson Rail Trail Hub

The Albany County Helderberg Hudson Rail Trail stretches all the way to Voorheesville and can be accessed in Albany’s South End at 722 S. Pearl Street. Rent a bike from the rack located at the start of the trail and start exploring!

Or stick in the South End and easily bike to attractions like Historic Cherry Hill or Schuyler Mansion State Historic Site. End your trip with something to eat at favorite spots like Excelsior Pub, Café Capriccio, Allie B’s Cozy Kitchen, or Bull and Bee Meadery.

Delaware Ave and Hulbut/Library Hub

Delaware Ave is the perfect neighborhood to enjoy a leisurely biking adventure. This mainly residential area connects to Lincoln Park, a favorite park in the heart of the city. The park offers plenty of paved biking paths and a fantastic view of Albany’s skyline. Cool off after your biking trip with ice cream at Emack & Bolio’s. Or drop off your bike and catch a movie at Scene One Spectrum 8 Theatres.

 

Washington Park

Washington Park/New Scotland Ave Hub

Stretching 98 acres in size, Washington Park offers plenty of winding paths perfect for pedaling the day away. Visit one of the park’s monuments, cross over the park’s picturesque footbridge, and bike around the 5.2 acre lake. Within biking reach to the park there are plenty of restaurants like Dove + Deer, Umana Yana, Iron Gate Café and attractions like the Albany Institute of History and Art.

 

Peebles Island State Park

Remsen Street Hub

Take your biking expedition to the city of Cohoes! Rent a bike from Remsen Street and cycle over to stunning nature sites like Van Schaick Park and Peebles Island State Park. Located on Van Schaick Island is the Van Schaick Mansion, a historic home with ties to the French and Indian War and American Revolution.

Back on Remsen Street, explore shops like Remsen Street Flea Market or Dennis Holzman Antiques. Enjoy restaurants and eateries like Bye-I Brewing or Anthony’s Italian Restaurant.
